When you look at the Whites’ squad, they’re not blessed with many natural left-backs. The main one that comes to mind is Junior Firpo, who’s only made two league appearances and one league start in the 2022/23 campaign so far amid his injury issues.

Kai Wagner is one player who had been linked with a move to Elland Road. The German has played 128 times for Philadelphia Union, spending the majority of his career as a left-back.

Considering how scarce they are in that position, it’s worrying to imagine that the higher-ups at Leeds think they have what they need in the left-back area. It seems to be a glaring hole in the squad that perhaps needs filling with a more orthodox option.
